Actually, it isn't possible. The Moderator Controls show everyone who is signed in, even if they sign in "hidden" (and, likesay, your avatar will show if you are online) but I was asking on behalf of other Board members; some of whom find it a bit creepy when people are "hidden".
And as Dear Lady S. pointed out, why would anyone want to be "hidden", unless it is for purposes nefarious?
