Just got an emergency alert on my phone. It started blaring and flashed a message on the screen saying to turn off air conditioners. I live in San Diego. It wasn't even a text message that had to be opened, I didn't even have to unlock my phone to read it. They must be serious.

California governor Gavin Newsome recorded himself from the governor's mansion telling Californians that Climate Change is real and to turn off our lights and air conditioners due to unprecedented heat overwhelming the power grid. (He was wrapped up in a sweater during said video, and while one may assume he was blasting his AC on High Cool, maybe he is just one of those people who feel cold all the time.)

On this very day, 105 years ago, Virginia Woolf wrote this in her diary: "A very hot steamy day." There were no mentions of fighting Climate Change and the need to sacrifice to win the war on it.
