Working at a non soul crushing job, just a simple controls electrician, small cog in the machine but 0 stress the instant I clock out. My time is done I give nary a shit about this place. Working on Christmas eve but they have us coming in 2 hours early and are shaving an hour off our day so we jet out at 7. Not horrible. Save my last day of vacay for New years Eve.
yeah that's not too bad brudda, and it's a 4 day weekend due to xmas anyway. GOD BLESS US MERRY GENTLEMEN.
4 day weekend in a civilized country. We get a floating holiday to use if a holiday falls on a day you don't work. So I just have the same weekend as always just one hour shaved of Friday and in 2 hours early.
OH SHIT....so you're always rooting for xmas day and boxing day (do you even have this as a holiday?) to fall midweek or you get nout?? that's madness!

soooo far I've cooked a couple of dozen mince pies and made a big old antipasto board for later. most of the food I'm gonna put out tonight is no work..pate, sausage rolls, pork pie and cheeses shit like that. I'm excited about a honey and truffle Camembert I'm gonna bake and serve with some crusty bread.

FUCKIN CHRISTMAS EVE YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH.

Not even had a beer yet...thinking I wanna stay at least able to walk/talk till later so about to crack a relatively low abv (5%) hazy ipa to touch up my festive thirst.

BEER GODS BLESS US...ONE AND ALL.

MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS...FUCKIN LOVE YOU ALL.

^^^ cheers sir! And cheers to everyone else as well.

I'm not nearly as ambitious with Christmas as I am with Thanksgiving. I did however use my time yesterday to do most of the cooking. Meatballs, sausage big pot of sauce. I don't have much to do today, just reheating and roasting some veggies. I can handle that with a good strong buzz.

Currently enjoying some bottled in bond enhanced coffee. I'll be praising the beer gods myself a little. Hope everyone has a good one!

I was up late with Hugh yesterday drinking tequila and talking shit. I ended up spending the day fighting one of those stomach-centric hangovers. I still jot all of shopping done as well as buying a bottle of Sagamore Rye.

I usually buy a bottle of something that I like as a Christmas gift to myself and beat its ass while wrapping gifts on Christmas eve.

I'm currently watching Young Guns and slowly draining this somuvabitch...

knocked off work at 1800, hit the rain locker and headed into town, first hit up target, for some sundries and a few bottles of Tullamore Dew, then went to 1400, but he was inexplicably closed, weirdly too, the sandwich board was outside, well no worries, walked to Wally's and had a few Whiskeys, then hit up a joint for chow, then a couple more drinks, then back to the ship.

I miss my wife and son

A book publisher I've been following said they will open up for manuscript submissions in 2022. I've had a manuscript ready for them for a while. They just posted on social media that they are open now, so I sent it on. The adrenaline dump was so strong I could taste it in my mouth. I really want to be published by these guys, they put out some good stuff. Now it's time to sip the PBR/whiskey to calm my nerves.

BTW, take a look at the guy who runs it. He's definitely not part of the New York literary scene: Image
