July 4th the Unknown Holiday

Post by Lush City »

Here's this guy Mark Dice down in Oceanside CA. hanging out on the pier asking people questions. Can it be that no one in America knows what Independence Day is all about? Check this out https://youtu.be/kyhCOPh48ew

This really disturbed me today. So I went down to happy hour today down at the beach here in L.A., where the young trendies come on holidays and asked a few questions. I couldn't believe it! So many of these young millennials don't know squat about Independence Day, the American Revolutionary War, Bill of Rights, etc. This is very disturbing. We are headed back to feudal times...

You really ought to read the article in Modern Drunkard Magazine entitled, "The Founding Drunkards", which should give you plenty more information to pass on, to youngsters and/or the ignorant; about how the "Founding Fathers" (i.e. those first, brave colonists) first concern was about obtaining booze.

Enjoy!

I am truly terrified at what our country's education systems are churning out. Mindless sheeple. Time to move into the deep woods and go off grid. Or drink more. I think I'll do that instead.

Then, as a full member of the Association of Modern Drunkardists, it is your duty to educate the wee tackers; especially when it comes to Bar Etiquette and Drunken History.

I do my best. One man can do only so much. So few points of light in the Drunkard sky these days.

The Whiskey Rebellion of 1791 was featured in Modern Drunkard where I learned of it.
