I’m immunocompromised. I read about people getting the third prick, but so far, it looks like nothing is getting delivered here until September-something.
But, I have other things to worry about. Like, why the hell is a grandma up at 3-something in the morning? Oh yeah. Because I married a stubborn old goat who is adamant that he will drag his complaining ass to work (5 am showtime, hour-and-a-half commute,(in the o’dark-thirties); in the evening, don’t even ask. 70 is the magic number, you see. Social security. Plus his 30 years of military pension. Except if I have to live with his working-guy-complaining ass for 6 more months, one of us may not make it through.
And then, he plans to take things easy. Part-time, local work Just enough to keep him out of my hair for a few hours a week. Last time he tried that, to supplement the income from the USMC and my part-time job—hey, I had five children, including the newborn princess—he was made a manager and they kept pressuring him to work full time. (I guess in MA they don’t get that whole military career thing.). After all, that was the place where we signed up for utilities for our rented house out in town and when the clerk asked Grumpy for his employment, he said United States Marine Corps.
She looked puzzled. “Marine Corporation? Is that in Wood’s Hole?”

The price of crude oil crashed 11% and the overall stock market had a huge selloff, too. The news headlines indicate fears over a new COVID-19 variant. There have been a couple of instances of fears over new variants in the last year or so, but the market has never reacted this severely.

Fuck the stock market. What is a barrell of vodka selling for right now? Maybe I`ll try my luck on the Saigon-whore wet market

Both the liquor store and the drug store are out of gallon bottles of water. The liquor store only carries one brand of gallon bottles - Crystal Geyser. But the drug store carries about three or four different brands and all of them are out. What the fuck is going on out there???

Get ready to drink the Zima in the back of the warehouses and your own piss, filtered of course.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

Buy a charcoal filter pitcher for $15 and drink tap water. You can also use it to filter some of the shittiness from bottom shelf booze. That’s ‘pocalypse thinkin’ there, hoss.

You know, you could probably use it to filter your piss too. If you’re into that.

The Walgreens is also out of gallon bottles, all brands. But all other sizes are still in stock.

I find it odd I had to go to three grocery stores to find Italian seasoning this past weekend. Does the world really go dago on Thanksgiving?
One store has been out of the large jars of peanut butter for weeks. Who are these people that just eat jars of peanut butter? Some kind of doomsday cult?
