It’s William Faulkner’s Birthday. Born in rural Mississippi in 1897

Post by Judge »

As I read this, I'm reminded that reading about Mississippi and living in Mississippi are 2 different days. I'm pleased at my little slice of NorthEast MS.

If you've read any of the novels, seen "As I lay dying", "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?", "Ode to Billy Joe", "Mississippi Burning", etc. You get one feeling about the deepest of southern states. Once you live here, you realize how in depth those works are. You get a whole new "in the know" vibe. It's like,
"I get it!"

And yes, the streets are deserted at this time on a Sunday. After the noon bell rings, every restaurant in town will be packed.
Proverbs 31:6&7

"Pain is sometimes the price of laughter."-Oggar

"The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane"-Marcus Aurelius

And afterwords we can run amok! Or if you're too tired, we can walk amok.

The prose of Faulkner rises above the standard man, and yet he relates in a stream as muddy and flowing as the bowstring lakes of the ol’ Sipp and the haunting Spanish moss hangin’ from the sycamores.

To your health, Judge. It is good and fine to hear from you.

Let's all slam a shot in honor of Quentin Compson. Fucker jumped off the bridge and ended it.
