Re: No More Free Health Care
you're desperately misinterpreting the new bill. the major new thing is the expansion of the Medicaid program. I remember when I worked retail pharmacy back in the day, and these motherfuckers would bitch about a $2 co-pay on a drug that costs (without profit built in) $300. I didn't last that long at that gig.deaddog wrote:It is about time! That's the thing about this 2004-2700 page bill. No one concretely knows what the hell it means. Other than an insurance company can't deny you based on a pre-existing condition. That seems to be the 'big sell'. Guess what, potential subscribers will just be priced out of the market. They won't be denied coverage, they just won't be able to afford it. Or else a primary care physician, or specialist, will just say 'fuck it, I'm not taking any new Medicaid patients'. yep, way to go democrats.

Re: No More Free Health Care
GreyGoose I have no clue what is in that huge bill but I do know it will kick in that people will mandatory have to buy their own insurance and I feel that is a step in the right direction.
We Americans will never deny someone health care if they are dying in the streets so the only practical solution is to make it mandatory you buy your own health care. IMHO it is a step in the right direction, better than doing nothing.

So sad but true I know someone this happened too. But now it is mandatory for you to have insurance so it should not happen again. In theory at least.MeanOldLady wrote:no, we'll just charge them up the asshole, into bankruptcy in medical bills.

Re: No More Free Health Care
not true. since the hospital isn't going to bother with hiring attorneys to sue a homeless/indigent/low-earner, it usually gets written off as bad debt.MeanOldLady wrote:no, we'll just charge them up the asshole, into bankruptcy in medical bills.deaddog wrote:We Americans will never deny someone health care if they are dying in the streets...
