The Conservative Party would implode if it didn't execute article 50.

What I think might happen though is at the next General Election, whenever that is, the Conservative Party will have a manifesto commitment to following the result of the referendum whilst Labour and the Libdems have a manifesto commitment to European Union membership.

Although speaking from a Labour perspective a lot of that is dependent on whether or not Jeremy Corbyn is still leading the party.

I think the split won't happen. Or at least I hope it wont. It would be a catastrophic failure, a failure to remember what happened the last time the Labour Party split. With SDP becoming simply a shock by-election force in British Politics and the Labour Party suffering for much longer than it needed to.

Shit happens here in the States all the time. Pennsylvania is in the Dark Ages with some of the worst Draconian blue laws on the books. Plus liquor is only sold in state run liquor stores. If prohibition taught this shitty state anything it's that having a monopoly on all the booze in the state is profitable as hell.
You've got that ass backwards. I've lived in the UK my whole life and our drinking laws are far more restrictive and oppressive than those of almost all EU member states, and they are not imposed by the EU, they are imposed by our own homegrown governments. Scotland, where I live, has the tightest booze laws in the UK. If I'm on holiday in mainland Europe I have none of the same problems trying to get a drink as I do at home, they use bigger measures than us, they sell later than us and earlier than us, they sell cheaper than us etc. EU membership is not a bad thing for the UK or its drinkers, but the right wing have spoken so we're fucked now anyway as they're pulling us out of it.

Now that the UK is going to quit, I think that it's time to form Oceania. Doubleplus good!

This means more than one drunk in charge right?

I'm cool with that as long as I get a turn.
