The wife and I had dinner tonight at a local place, really nice. The bartender helped us in the dining room as it was early (4pm). After she came back time and time again to be sure we were being taken care of it suddenly occurred to me why I felt so comfortable around her. She was Liz's doppelganger. She was nice, engage-able and had a very good likeness of Ms. Savino.

I felt like I had a quick visit. I miss the Liz.

I had an odd dream last night/this morning, in which I met the rock and roll band Guided By Voices. I don't remember the context in the dream, not that there needs to be one, and it all stems from the fact that they are performing Saturday night, here. The one time that I talked to Liz on the phone, we talked about them, as they were one of her favorites, if not the tops of the list.

It's quite odd, since I never met Liz in person (but was lucky enough to talk with her, by telephone, whilst I was crashing a Oggar and Roomie's place) but I just awoke from a vivid dream of her, Tony and Tim, all drinking (on some godling's tab), chewing the fat and having a blast. For a moment I wished that I could join them but after a swift awakening and a couple of shots to their memory, I figured that I could wait until they reached the punchline.
This World seems a slightly sadder place for their passing (Bella, Peripat and Schmernie, too - although they didn't feature in my dream; I'm guessing that they were ordering more drinks at that time).

So here's one more drink to them: kindly charge your glasses for a long swallow to Trout, Mutts and Collapsing Balcony Furniture! Cheers, you magnificent bastards; I am so damned proud to have known you!

I'll be honest, I find it harder to come here since she died. I dream of her often enough, sometimes it's beautiful, sometimes haunting, but it's all so damnably fleeting.

RIP Mayhem, as long as I have a heart you are in it.

It has been almost 8 years since I have looked at this forum and to find out both Liz and Mayhem are gone saddens me deeply. I remember visiting them in Rochester and drinking all night with them. I looked back through some of my photos and found this.

Jesus Mao..... what a photo....... I haven’t been back in a while either. Life is too short. Let those around you know that they are loved. Cherish those moments where you hit that sweet whiskey sweet spot that I’ve seen Casino wax so eloquently about.

And Ogre - your dreams are like Liz - beautiful, haunting and too fleeting.

Cheers to all of you

I liked one thing Palinka said, "we are not enemies of each other and should not fight each other, leave that to MADD" or something like that.

The one in the middle is the only one not named.

Does anyone know what bar that is in the above photo? I'm a native of Rochester and I'm curious for some odd reason.
