Honestly, my favorite gangster film is Miller's Crossing. (Not saying theat it's better than Godfather, just a matter of preference.)

The baptism scene from the first one has to be one of the finest sequences ever put to film. It's so goddamn menacing.
As far as 3 is concerned, I keep trying to like it, regardless of how awful it is in the context of the other films, but just can't find anything redeeming about it. By that time Pacino had become some weird, shouting caricature of an actor who's only believable as a screaming blind man who drives Ferraris.

Yes he should of won .But it was about a rat so he lost on that a count of that .Like Dances with wolves was about wolves that why it won. I just read some Godfather trivia that said that the horse head in the bed scene was so real because the actor wasn't expecting the very real horse head that they put there. Supposedly they got it from a dog food company. No wonder the blood looked so real.
