"Getting Drunk (With or Without You)" by The Beat Farmers

A sampling of some of the great lines:

"I'm giving you exactly one minute
To find a clean dress and get your ass in it,
Know what I'm gonna do,
I'm getting drunk, with or without you."

"Bright lights, big night, I'm feeling strong
Jim Beam givin' me the right to be wrong."

"My favorite bar is down the road,
I'm gonna drink you pretty, you beautiful toad"

"There's a worm in this bottle screaming get me outta here"
No friend ever served me, and no enemy ever wronged me, whom I have not repaid in full. -- Sulla's Epitaph

Any song by Steely Dan. Everyone of their hits refers to booze in some way. The song "Do It Again," is basically about a guy at a bar taking an inventory of his life and realizing that even if he ahd to do it again, he would be in the same place.

GNR - Appetite for Destruction.

Pretty much all I need to get in the mood during the preloading phase of the evening/afternoon/breakfast.

Tool - undrunk is fun too, because I enjoy irony.

I guess I could modernize my tunes a bit, though. Anything sex drugs and rock and roll I'm all for. I don't really care much for the folksy stuff, but I love the rock and blues. But speaking of, music about the fun times to be had while drunk and high isn't exactly the kind of shit you find on the radio these days. Everything seems to be about getting in touch with your feelings with aid of a razor blade or a length of rope. And here I do everything I can to achieve numbness, go figure.

So yeah, suggestions on modern rock that praises the virtues of vice are much appreciated.
