When it comes to drinking music the artist/song in question must possess a few qualities: it must be something that when it ceases to be at the forefront of your amusement (such as when engaging in conversation), upon the inevitable lapse back into the song you shouldn't have to wait for something interesting to happen in the song. At the same time, there's nothing that sours a good drunk like a preachy band - so political and religious bands should generally be avoided.

Lately, while I'm drunk I've been digging on GG Allin, Tom Waits, Autopsy, The Cramps, The Misfits, Special Duties, and Alice Cooper.

If i drink to G.G. Allin there's a high chance i'll get hurt.
Which is more than fine !

Last time i got pissed on The Cramps was in a minuscule bar in Tokyo a couple of months ago ... lots of drunken japanese guys shouting and headbanging , girls , cheap wine and cocktails. All in a space which was less than my room .
Good times .

Country drinking/singing at it's finest.

Anything by:
Hank, Senior
Ernest Tubb
Jimmy "C" Newman
Jimmy Reed
John Lee Hooker
Tommy Johnson
Any country songs by Jerry Lew Lewis (on -- I shit you not -- the "Smash" record label).
Patsy Cline
Kitty Wells
Big Mama Thornton
Billie Holliday

I could go on...and on...and on...

G. G. Allen's coolness is magnified by the fact that his given name at birth was "Jesus Christ Allen".

Awesome.
