ever had sangrita (not to be confused with sangria) it's a great after shot to tequila blanco.
Quoted this from another thread but you have mentioned Sangrita many times but wasn't sure what it was. I stumbled upon this "drink" at the store the other day when I was browsing for juice for Bloody Mary's. Bought it for the first time- the "picante" flavor over the "classic", although it isn't "picante" by any means. At least by my standards. I pre-made up a batch of Bloody Mary's with it so it's rearin' to go when I'm ready for one. It had a very citrusy vibe to me which was perfect, I just didn't use as much lime in my Mary mix. And I had habanero hot sauce and added lots of horseradish of course, to kick it up to a more "picante-y" level. Pretty stoked!

This is just juice -no alcohol- but here's what I got for those of you who might not know what it is:

May I just say that vegetable juice is above and beyond, a million times better in a BM than plain tomato juice. Especially Spicy Hot V8. That is all.

You can't say you've been drinking all day unless you begin in the morning. Bloody Mary's are the way to get started. Cheers!

In this instance, it's D.A.T. hot sauce.

Sans clamato juice I could deal with that.

Agreed. We must incorporate more days of BM mornings into our lives.

To follow on from your inquiry (above), Here you go.

Serves one. Increase ingredients to suit participants.

Ingredients

500mls Vodka
500mls Tomato juice (not V8, Clamato or any other variety)
50mls water
10mls Beef blood
1 beef stock cube
Celery salt
Black pepper (freshly ground)
Tabasco sauce
Worcestershire sauce (or dark soy, if push comes to shove)
1 tblsp ginger (freshly grated)
1 tblsp vinegar (balsamic is best)
1 Cucumber (peeled and deseeded)
1 tblsp horseradish (freshly grated)
1 teaspoon English Mustard powder (optional)

Instructions

Chop the cucumber into cubes and place in a freezer or refrigerator icebox until frozen.
Mix the water (room temp) and blood (slowly to avoid clotting) then add Worcestershire sauce and vinegar and pour the liquid over the celery salt, stock cube, horseradish, ginger, black pepper and mustard powder, whilst constantly stirring.
Stir well and add slowly, while still stirring, to the tomato juice.
Add the vodka and frozen cucumber (the frozen cucumber obviates the need for ice cubes). Stir well.
Add garnish (sprigs of parsley, celery stalks and/or whatever else tickles your palate).
Drink.
Dear departed brother:

I cannot believe I never read this post before, nor can I believe how much wrong it contains. Here's your Bloody Mary:

Vodka
Tomato juice
Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco
Horseradish allowed if you are having trouble waking up
Maybe a squeeze of lemon, maybe not
Celery salt
Beef Broth...iffy but okay--don't mistake this for a Bull Shot or a Bloody Bull
Celery stalk to stir, and because we need our veggies--try to get one with a few leaves

That's it. That's the list.
The rest of that recipe is crap.
Sorry, brother. Miss you.
