Yum! I totally love sangria on a hot day. A friend gave me some awful wine... but you can't waste it! Here's a way to save crap wine:
5 oz of brandy (or cognac)
.5 to 1 cup of sugar (depending on your sweet tooth)
1.5 bottles of cab sav or merlot
1 chopped apple
1 chopped lemon
1 chopped orange
Let it set in fridge for at least 12 hours (longer if you can), serve 3 parts wine mixture with 1 part club soda. YUM!
