Well, I did it again. I hope y'all are satisfied. Junegoddess is having Bushmill's (and fresh raw cream) in her coffee.
I swear, I think this forum is a bad influence- FORCING us to have liquor at 8:43 AM. And if that's the case, all I can say is thank you.

I don't have my own recipe yet. I've expiremented but it comes out just hot, not savory. Anyway. this thread has made me crave a bloody mary. I think I'll have to wander down to the pub after I shower and get myself 1 or 3.

I would kill for one of Ivan's bloody mary's right now. I'm usually not one to drink the hair of the dog next morning, but after my bagel and coffee breakfast, a bloody mary would go down real well right now. wiping up drool.
I'm not so think as you drunk I am.

All I've been drinking this weekend is bloody mary's. Out of necessity mostly, because I had vodka and nothing to mix it with.
Here's what I've been working with:
-3 oz Monopolowa vodka
-ice
-3 dashes worcestershire sauce
-6 to 8 dashes Franks Red Hot Chile-Lime sauce
-1 dash angustora bitters
-2 olives
-either 1 jalepeno or some of those pickled veggies like they serve in mexican restaurants...like the bloody marys they were making in Denver
-V8
-black pepper
No celery to garnish but I'll manage and I think I've just about got it tweeked. Boy that V8 juice really cleans you out too.

Whenever I've been in an expensive bar (rarely) that serves good cocktails and I felt that I should piss off at a certain point, because I had to work the next day I ended it with a Bloody Mary. And it helped. Too bad, that I don't have most of the ingredients at home. I'm working on that, though.

Hell, I love olives. I even condider putting them in my "cheap scotch neat" drink. It's an universal add-on.Mister Priapus wrote:I don't think they do normally but I just like them. A Bloody Mary takes way to much work for me to make one in the morning.
Earlie Cuyler: Allow me to explain the contamination process. Pine cones go in here, party liquors comes out here and proceed to here.

Bloody Marys are not work in the morning. They are an object of love, to be carefully and lovingly crafted. Are they a touch of work? Certainly. But we go through this labor of love in the knowledge that the hangover will soon go away, to be replaced by the warm, sweet glow of the morning buzz...
Yes, I'm having one right now. I went heavier on the celery salt than usual, and I'm enjoying the outcome.

I suppose I shouldn't just say that and leave without providing a proper Bloody Mary Recipe, so here goes.
Into a chilled pint-glass add the following:
Worcesteshire Sauce (lots)
Tabasco Sauce (a few dashes)
Celery Salt (to taste)
Cracked black pepper (to taste)
Hungarian Hot Paprika (to taste)
Stir
Add a tablespoon of horseradish and continue to stir.
Now add a liberal amount of 100° vodka (80° will do if that's all you have)
Stir s'more. Throw in a couple of ice cubes and fill to the rim with V8.
