Bloody Mary Breakfast

Post by ivan »

OK, for those of you who don't know, the home bar is now open.

Pictures are in a different thread.

It's a bloody Mary breakfast Saturday, in celebration.

The Perfect Bloody Mary:

Fill glass 1/2 to 3/4 full of crushed ice.
Add 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce, 3 dashes Tabasco, 2 olives (anchovy stuffed are best), and squeeze 1 lime wedge. Shake in Celery salt to coat ice (KEY ingredient!)

Insert 1 celery stalk from the middle of the bunch. Y'know, the good and tender, short, leafy ones.

3 oz. vodka- frozen is best.

Fill remainder of glass with V8 (or Clamato... but I have V8 )

Then, and this is the other KEY ingredient, add freshly ground pepper.

Stir with celery stalk. Two-fist with coffee.

Enjoy!

I had a V-8 (low sodium), Monopolwa Vodka, and a dash of celery salt. Actually, I had two.

Very Simple and gets the job done.

Now I'm working on a tall screwdriver.

This is a real good recipe: (by my trial and error)

1 1/2 oz vodka
5 oz Tabasco Brand Bloody Mary Mix
4 taps on the Tabasco bottle
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
3/4 oz juice from pickle jar
1 pickle

garnish with a toothpick of 2 spanish olives, add celery stalk if you want
it's great........try it

Never crushed ice it melts to fast and waters it down. Anchovy I may have to try I like salt. Nice very nice.

I liked both the bloody mary and this thread so much I had to do it again this morning.

Y'Know what? Still good! Takes the edge off the day, y'know?

Nice bar, although you need to get some good bourbon.

As was said earlier, don't use crushed ice. Also, I think that almost any other kind of hot sauce is better than Tabasco in a BM. Oh, and no anchovies for me, tho' jalapeno stuffed green olives are great.

Just suggestions...
