Slivovitz Drink Ideas?

Post by Colonel Knowledge »

What ho, chaps. How's it hanging?

Just back from a trip to the Czech Republic. Like a damn fool I drank the absinthe I bought while I was over there and all I brought back with me was a bottle of slivovice/slivovitz/plum brandy.

It tastes like hell.

Any of you lot got any ideas of how to cut my losses and knock up some sort of cocktail or mixed drink that doesn't taste like poison?

Cheers!
Ubbs.

Trade Winds

2 oz. gold Rum
1/2 oz. plum brandy
1/2 oz. lime juice
2 tsp. sugar syrup

- Fill blender with 3 oz. of ice, and add the Rum, Plum Brandy, lime juice and sugar syrup.
- Blend until it's smooth and serve it in your choice of glassware.

Enjoy.

I don't think that stuff is so bad. Chill it appropriately and throw it on the rocks. If that's still too much, some tonic and a twist of lime should be enough.

Make it a Czech Sidecar.

2 parts strong
1 part sweet
1 part sour.

Shake over ice and strain into a sugar rimmed cocktail glass. Put on some tramp music and be artsy.

But maybe that's just the price you pay

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them a try.

I had been reduced to putting it in Irish/Czech coffee, which seemed rather a waste of booze.
