Sweet heavenly ambrosia: the Bourboni

Post by gnarkill »

The Bourboni is my variation on the Negroni, with bourbon replacing the gin. I'm sure someone's made it before me, and it probably even has another, classier name, but i'll be damned if this drink ain't the nectar of the gods:

3pts Bourbon (the stronger the better- I'm looking at you Turkey 101 & Booker's)
2pts Campari
1pt Sweet Vermouth

Mix all ingredients & serve on the rocks with an orange peel garnish. Extra points if you caramelize the orange twist with some fire.

Cheers!

sounds like a manhattan with campari in place of the cherry, but more. never found a use for campari before, but this may just be it.

Yeah, it's a solid cocktail. The bourbon is heartier than the gin in a negroni and softens the bitterness. It's a hell of a reason to break out that Campari bottle that's been collecting dust in your liquor cabinet for years.

you mix bookers? WT101 but not bookers. I bet turkey rye would give it the needed kick.
