Jules Clarion brandy + Dr Pepper

Jules Clarion is the worst brandy I've ever bought. I normally drink brandy neat, but this was nearly undrinkable. However, mixing with Dr Pepper yielded a very pleasent drink. Surprising, but I don't think coke would have quite done the same somehow.

this would be the first thing i've found that mixes well with dr. p. still remember thinking, "bourbon is good; dr. pepper is good...let's do this." not a good result.

despite having eschewed sodas, i may have to try this. i am exploring brandy recently, after all.

yet again, mdm message board ftw!

I have to clarify, that if the brandy was nice, I would never have mixed it. I think mixing good brandy with Dr Pepper would probably not have been a success...

I shot shittiest(cheapest) plum brandy I could find in Croatia because well it was cheap. Over a night and I didn't puke far as I recall. Or did taste. It wasn't that bad, warm vodka is worse. But I've heard they mix brandy with cola some places, never liked Dr.Pepper meself at all.

I dated several girls in college who loved Captain and Dr. Pepper. Gotta admit, the resulting flavor was almost chocolatey.

Yep. If this yucky brandy+dr. pepper combo really works, then you have struck gold in a shit mine

I can drink both of those straight, but also mixing with coke/pepsi or cherry coke/cherry pepsi is pretty damn good. Haven't tried dr. pepper as a mixer since the failed bourbon+dr. pepper combo wingman mentioned.

I know Absolute Kurrant mixes well with store brand Dr. Pepper. A good mixer with Dr. Pepper would be good to find, as it and 7-up tend to be on sale more frequently in comparison to coke and pepsi products (at least in areas where Coke doesn't own bottling rights to Dr. Pepper).

Of course, I don't buy Absolute Kurrant because it's too damned expensive.

Chased some EJ with dr. pepper today. It was good. Now I'm drnk so I'm chasing anything with doctor pepper. It was good.

Dr.Pepper is great with any brandy as a chaser or a mixer.
