Progresso don't stand alone. But not horrible.

Used the food processor to smooth out the chunks and the usual additives to bring it up to speed. Horseradishfixes everything. That, and more vodak.

Have I mention vinagar before? Just trying to hit the four corners of taste.

I had the back of teh skull alcohol poisoning prehangover syndrome from the massive quantities consumed on the ice pluss the bourbon/red wine/scotch fancy dinner downtown last nigt, bless mother Mary for bringing me back this morning.

Do these even exist in Germany? Basically sets the foundation for the Shrimpy Mary.

O.K., too lazy to look it up but got the oriental Bloody recipe going today and will call it the Phillipine Tomato 'cause that what Dad called it.

This is for you Palinka:

1 oz 151 Rum
2 oz Tomato juice
1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon Pineapple sauce
1/2 teaspoon oyster sauce
1/2 teaspoon Wasabi paste, or less; more will curl your hair.

Mix and pour, says Dad, never make this in the glass you are serving it in. Bruise it.

Thinking of submitting Dad's post war pacific officer's club management tale to the magazine; a truly wonderful story of being on top of the world and drunk.

Zing Zang Recipe

1- 46oz Can of V-8
1- Tblspn distilled vinegar
1- " Lawrey's Season Salt
1- " Worchestershire sauce
1- " Celery seeds
1- Teaspoon black Pepper
1- " Celery salt

I have been making this for a while as it eliminates the MSG in the real thing. I use an old plastic container as you can't keep it in the can after opening it, although this is about a weekend's supply in my case, so it doesn't make much difference.

This will save you about $5 bucks in my neck of the woods

As I've written before, a reasonable starting point.

Picked up some Wasabi powder yesterday, gonna play with that tomorrow.

And now, off to play with some Bourbon. Cheers!

Awesome. Thanks for the recipe. I'd been wanting to try making a batch of my own. May substitute Old Bay for the Lawry's though. MD twist on it.

That could work!

My various experiments have taught me one thing: you have to manage the salt in Bullshots and Marys. So if you're going to use Old Bay, you'll want to use it sparingly. They say Old Bay was invented to make drunks thirstier. Which is not a bad thing, until you realize you're drowning in salt and it's really not that pleasant.
