classing up the place with a refreshing soju cocktail

Post by nic the chick »

i call it a ladyboy:
1 part pokpoksom brand (portland, OR) thai basil drinking vinegar
2 parts soju (rice whiskey)
2 parts club soda
combine all ingredients and pour over ice. garnish with mint sprig and top with a hibiscus flower.

perfect with spicy grilled bits of livestock on bamboo skewers.
i have a photo, but i've turned computarded over the past few years. uploading it, i guess.

Sounds like something that our good friend RIPT would be well into.

My apologies. I was aiming for satirical but fell wide of the mark, into incomprehensible arsehood.

Oh, I got it. My friend RIPT hasn't been on the bored for a while, and he forgot about cross-posting.

Well, Lambic is a little like drinking vinegar. And of course there's the old gout remedy: a shot of raw apple cider vinegar a day. Vinegar "soft" drinks are also getting quite popular in China, S. Korea and Japan. You'll even see them on the shelves here in the States at Asian grocery stores. The one's I've tried so far range from refreshingly good to downright sour-ass dumpster juice.

On this subject of soju. Man, I've drank a lot of Ginro in my time. Lots of it out of the tetra-pak or "juice box" cartons you can get from the S. Korean market, and a case is usually dirt cheap. Pulling an ice cold sippy box out of the cooler on a hot day is a luxury. Do I look like a moron? Do I care? No, I'm enjoying the hell out of that cold soju, and I might even pass out in the lawn chair and let my scrote accidentally hang out of my bermudas (not really, but my late uncle did once at a family reunion; that emotional scarring will never heal).

Soju swillin ribeye grillin most fulfillin.

Vinegar distilled from cane. Gawd, it's fantastic. 20 bucks a bottle from Amazon, and it goes a long way. I've made about 12 drinks with it so far, and it's still 2/3 full.
