We did this in 2004 and that's exactly what happened like a day into it. There was only 6 of us and I think 2 stopped playing. Blackneto won. But, I willing to try it again.
I'll miss you, pallie.

The Mariners have gotta take the AL West this year right? They're stacked to the tits in every position. I know the Angels win it every year and they've still got a great rotation even after losing Lackey, but I can't see a roster with as many big names on it as Seattle's not winning a division.

Baseball network predeicts Angels will finish last, yes, LAST in the AL West. I guess we'll see how they do, I can't see 'em finishing last.

Since it's a new year I just want to remind everyone of the fact that Barry Bonds is the greatest player to ever step onto a diamond.

I'm not going to get into my whole rant on this because I've typed it all out in so many other threads in the past. I just want to point out that there's this idea that the old time greats wouldn't have used steroids if they were available at the time and everyone else was using them. I don't buy it. Also, there's been countless other advancements in the sport; bats with much larger sweet spots, more ergonomic gloves, better training and recovery methods. Why should we arbitrarily pick certain advancements to shun? Tommy John surgery is more complex and has a much larger impact on the people who use it than steroids, but how come nobody criticizes all of the pitchers who've had it done? Despite the numbers, Babe Ruth was actually the better home run hitter between the two. Bonds' hitting success came from knowing the strike zone better than anyone else to ever play. Bigger muscles can't teach you that.

And let's not forget- Bonds never tested positive for steroids. Your boy A-Rod has though. If Mr. April were to go on to break Bonds' HR record some day would people criticize him the same way they criticized Bonds? Of course not. Not at all. In fact, it seems like most people have already completely forgot that A-Rod ever pissed dirty even though the story broke just last year. He was able to win a World Series without it ever being brought up. It must be nice to play baseball on the East Coast.

You can't speculate on the whole "if they had 'em back then, they woulda used 'em", that's speculation, you can't base an argument on speculation. You might be right, you might be wrong, we'll never know. Bonds may have never tested positive for 'roids, but tell me - what do you think? honestly. He's under congressional investigation, this doesn't just happen out of nowhere.
A-Rod is far from my boy, and he'll always be scrutinized, it's New York, you can strike out once all season and we're gonna let you know about it, trust me, A-Rod's transgressions have not - nor will ever be forgotten. Media-wise, I think Bonds' attitude has alot more to do with the way he's perceived than anything else, you throw in 'roids and it's a feeding frenzy for 'em.

For what it's worth, I was gonna throw up this pic

Oh I think he used steroids. Probably the same steroids as the pitchers who were pitching against him. I just bring up the fact that he's never tested positive because people seem to think he should be left out of the Hall of Fame based only on public speculation without any hard evidence, which is ridiculous. A-Rod's transgressions have already been forgotten. Nobody brought them up the entire World Series of the very same year the revelation was made. But every time Bonds hit a home run they'd cut to somebody holding some sign. I challenge you to find a picture of fans holding a sign criticizing A-Rod's (proven) steroid use like the one you posted (of many) criticizing Bonds. They hate him because he was an asshole? Please, we're talking about baseball. It's full of assholes. A-Rod admitted that while he was on the Rangers he was pitch-tipping to his friends on the other team. It doesn't get any more douchebaggy than that. Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez- they all get a pass because of where they were playing baseball. That's why nobody is talking about their steroid use but Bonds' and steroids was the story of the year.

I'll do you one better, on the cover of a New York Post

attitude definitely has something to do with it, look at Sosa and McGwire, both in the mix, but nowhere near the animosity shown towards Bonds, why do you think that is?
