I haven't really kept up on the Warriors much this season. Being a Lakers fan, whenever I see them go 10 games up in the standings I kind of tune out the Pacific Division and concentrate on my Eastern team, the Knicks (back in the playoffs, for the first time since 2004, versus Boston in the first round).

Are the Ws still having a lot of injury issues? Or is Keith Smart not working out as coach? I look at their roster and they appear to have a fair amount of young talent and it seems like the team should be winning more games.

They are winning more games. They've won 10 more than last season. Their defensive strategy is still just to hope that the other team is a bad shot.

Melo had a tough game but, on the bright side, Jeffries and Turiaf did a decent job in the post. If NYK can count on those guys to do the dirty work down low, they've got a chance. Still, the most glaring stat is the rebounding discrepancy (B 44, NY, 34). Failure to boxout on both the defensive glass and -- especially -- at the offensive end has been an ongoing problem with this team since D'Antoni's been the coach. Their PG got 9rebs; a clear sign that more could be done in this area. In what will probably be a low-scoring series for the most part, every rebound is critical.

Hypothetical, 20/20 hindsight here, BUT: take 5rebs away from the C's and give 5rebs to NYK and then who wins that game?

All I know is that he better not mess with Jack. It looks like he runs with a wild crowd.

Can't wait for Bulls and Heat.

Bulls and Heat may well be the Finals.

Dude in the back -- shades & hat -- is legendary record producer, Lou Adler. He and Jack each have a pair of court-side seats at Staples, as they did at the Forum. The Lakers originally played at the old L.A. Sports Arena. There were no court-side seats for fans originally; one side was the two teams/scorers, the other was assorted media and the announcers/crew. There WERE baseline seats back then -- they cost @$5.50 each, lol. When Jack Kent Cooke bought the team (@1965), he booted the media and the announcers upstairs a bit and gave the big-shots a chance to pony up for those side-line seats and then carried this policy over when he built the Forum a year later. Jack and Lou were two of the first to buy these $$$$ season seats.
