I don't think Auburn raises peoples ire as much as USC does. Unfair? sure is.
BMMS is wrong.

I guess Auburn would need to win a bunch of national titles first before being comparable to USC

Michigan State is kind of getting screwed. But, they really shouldn't have lost to Iowa by 30.

LA Times wrote:The NCAA’s decision Wednesday to reinstate Auburn quarterback Cam Newton without penalty despite the prohibited actions of his father surprised USC Athletic Director Pat Haden.

Haden oversees a program that was hit with some of the harshest NCAA sanctions in college sports history, in part because Reggie Bush’s parents were found to have accepted prohibited extra benefits from agents and would-be sports marketers. Bush’s stepfather also helped set up a fledgling sports-marketing venture.

“In the Reggie Bush case, when the parent [did] something inappropriate the kid and the school suffered,” Haden said.

Haden, who succeeded Mike Garrett in August, said the Newton ruling is at odds with how USC is attempting to educate athletes and their parents regarding NCAA rules.

I hear ya Chimneyfish.

If there was ever any doubt that the NCAA enforces its rules selectively, there is none now.

The NCAA has opened a HUGE can of worms.

If I was a USC fan, I would be friggin pissed off.

Instead, I'm just a college football fan and, like everyone else, I want to see Oregon v Auburn in the title game.

What I don't get is how the NCAA acknowledged that Newton's dad was shopping him around to different schools but somehow also claimed that nobody associated with any university had knowledge of it. The guy must be a really horrible salesman if he never even talked to a single person capable of making decisions.
