What's your take on the upcoming American Gods series?
I really want to see/watch it, but I think taht I will have to wait until it is all available to binge or buy it on priced-to-own disc (as I have a hard time catching any scheduled tv programming, working at night and all that.) I have heard nothing but good reviews of it.
night shift does suck for keeping up with shows. second is a great drinking shift.

recently read infamous Iron man. Sorta had to as Doc Doom is by far my favorite comic book villain, possibly character (actually that's probably Constantine or Cassidy).

Liking it so far, but as always there's yet plenty of room for fucking it up.

Currently reading "Faces Along the Bar: Lore and Order in the Workingman's Saloon, 1870-1920" by Madelon Powers. It's mildly amusing so far. I also checked out "Ambitious Brew: The Story of American Beer" by Maureen Ogle though I haven't started flipping through it yet.

The Diary of Anne Frank.

Pages 12 - 27 contain only her crude personal sketches of circumcised penises and Nazi dominatrix scenes.

I once tried to read "Moonwalker" by Michael Jackson. That was twisted and dumb. A real eye-opener too

Currently going back and forth between two re-reads. Really gotta find something new.

"No Country For Old Men" Cormac McCarthy
"Cannery Row" John Steinbeck

"Suttree" by Cormac McCarthy. About halfway through it, not bad not my favorite. Feels like it doesn't have to be as long as it is but a good story none the less.

Pre-War Steinbeck. Knights of the Round Table. All Hail Danny!

I agree. It was before he started the uber narrative shit. Yeah, the grasshopper hit the windshield... yadda, yadda, yadda, fuck.

I'm undecided between "Cannery Row" or "Tortilla Flat" for best Steinbeck.

Checked out "Burning Down The Haus" by Tim Mohr. Not bad so far. Always enjoy books about obscure punk scenes/bands.
