Picked up a couple of Stephen King short story collections because the library is free and why not.
"Nightmares and Dreamscapes" and "Everything's Eventual". A couple of stories into "Nightmares..." so far so good.

Just bought a used copy of Lew Bryson's _Tasting Whiskey: An Insider's Guide to the Unique Pleasures of the World's Finest Spirits_.

Looking forward to bringing it to work and reading during the slow hours. It's got excellent reviews. I hope it deepens my understanding of whiskey.

So much to learn.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

"The Twilight Man: Rod Seeking & the Birth of Television" a graphic novel by Koren Shadmi. Just started it, not too shabby. Somehow a comic book seems fitting for anything Twilight Zone related.

There Goes Gravity, a Life in Rock and Roll by Lisa Robinson.

The author was a long tome columnist at the Washington Post and N.Y. Times and an editor for Cream and several other music magazines. She's currently a contributing editor at Vanity Fair.

The book is 350 pages of stories of being on the road with the Stones, Bowie, John Lennon, Lou Reed, Zeppelin, Eminem, Lady Gaga and others.

I've probably read 20 similar books, but this one is one of the best so far. Most of the others are pretty stilted while this one is pretty down-to-earth.

Attempting to read "Trainspotting" by Irvine Welsh. Maybe drinking more scotch would improve my comprehension. This is one of the most difficult books I've ever tackled.

Re-reading some of my issues of Tales from the Crypt and The Haunt of Fear. The weird ones with the horror in the front and Weird Science-Fantasy in the back. The Weird Science stuff has surprisingly grown on me.

Expanding my EC comic collection beyond horror. Recently picked up some copies of Shock SuspenStories and Crime SuspenStories. Good stuff!

I've been reading a lot of books by M.D Cooper.
SciFi about androids, brain implants that allow
Communication directly between minds
That have the implant.
FTL recently invented in her universe.
Women protagonists who kick ass.
She also partners with junior authors
To give them a leg up
In the industry. Some of them
Are quite good. Some of them aren't
But I've stuck with M.D over 14 books so far.
Available on Amazon kindle for a decent price
Sometimes free!

Cheers if you like SciFi books!

"Drink Dat, New Orleans: A Guide to the Best Cocktail Bars, Neighborhood Pubs, & All-Night Dives"

Great fucking book. It is, however, not written by a drunk. The author, Elizabeth Pearce visited every one of the hundreds of bars listed. But she makes a big fucking point of telling us she didn't get drunk at any of them. A drunk needs to write a similar book.

Find out where she lives, take her to every bar again, make her rewrite her book with an educated opinion

I'm currently working through Ignition! by John D Clark.
It's about the development of rocket propellants.
Sure, you're there, holding a cup up, going "YEAAHH!!"
Don't do it. These were guys who could tolerate the performance of red fuming nitric acid, but only barely. Sure, it was an oxidizer, but, meh.
Look up Chlorine Triflouride. Look up Boranes. These fucks got seriously weird.

Finishing up my second read by Carlos Castaneda, “Journey To Ixtlan.” The lessons of Don Juan. Does anyone else read Castaneda’s books?
