What are these "dive bars" you speak of? I don't understand.

I once thought I did, but I have come to terms with the fact that I will probably never truly know.

Pickled eggs and the half sausages are the best. I don't get out much anymore and have made my own pickled eggs to the disgust of the wife.

I sometimes visit the early opening bars in which you're required to pay an extra quid to have a mandatory breakfast. Sausage, bacon and beans. Couldn't you get used to that?

Mandatory breakfast? That's hilarious. Seems like a cheap breakfast to me.

Anyway, I haven't had pickled eggs in a while, although I did get the very last one before the owner of my local sold it and stopped making them. Best I ever had was some dive bar up north in the middle of nowhere...jalapeno pickled egg. Pasties are great too, that's a Michigan thing.

that is funny. we've a place in town that does breakfast on st. patty's morning, free with the purchase of any drink, i think $3 otherwise. full spread: eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, etc.

Pork hocks and spicey pickled sausage for me. I pickle my own beets, beans and other assorted veggies but rely on big plastic jars for the meat producs.

I used to work for a wholesale and vending company that catered to dive bars so I was lucky enough to learn about all the good places for a cheap drink and meal while I was on the clock.

I encourage you all to try pickled tomatoes if you have the chance, they are delicious. Very popular in Russia.
