Hot Sauce

Post by Corrodesthefilm »

Ok so I'm tired of the usual tabasco/louisiana/sriracha rut I'm in

What hot sauce should I buy? For eggs and pizza.

Try Tapatio (Mexican)...it has no vinegar. Or, if you can find it, try any of the sauces made by Matouk's (Trinidad). El Yucateca (Mexican)is another good one.

Shit, El Yucatano...got a bottle of their green habanero in the pantry right now. That's the shit and with a good kick to boot.

Tabasco is just spicy vinegar but has it's place.

Try mixing Coleman's English Mustard Powder with wasabi and your liquor of choice. It even makes a McFilth burger appetising.

Grace Hot Pepper Sauce. Good heat and not much vinegar, plus it's pretty thick, so it sticks well to whatever you're shaking it on.

Give the Hipster Ketchup a try: Sriacha aka Vietnamese Cock Sauce
Also, for eggs, there is an habanero based salsa at Trader Joe's that is extremely hot and very tasty. For me, it's too hot to consume with just chips, but I have tried because it is so delisious.

I approve of this message, at the exception of the Mc Mes Couilles part. I'd also add a little bit of white vinegar.

The Hitch Rail makes an excellent habanero sause. you can find them on the Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/THEHITCHRAIL.

Texas Pete has also been running a lot of ads for cocktails made with their sauce. I've got a bottle in the pantry but haven't opened it up yet. I'll report back once I do.

Dat'l Do It line of hot sauces are fantastic if you can find them. I highly recommend the Hellish Relish on.... well... everything, but any kind of brat most of all.

My favorite hot sauce is Crystal's hot sauce from Louisiana. It's Cayenne pepper based.

That's a fine sauce. Great for cooking. Not gonna win any dares - it's fairly mild - but it's got a flexible flavor profile, and tends not to take over the show like Tabasco - which I love.

For melt-my-face hotness, I keep this stuff called You Can't Handle This Hot Sauce around. It's waaaaay too hot. But it tastes pretty good.

Another vote for El Yucateco. The green one reminds me of something nuclear that the Hulk would eat.

Most of my favorites have been covered already, so I'll add this:

Valentina is amazing. It's the secret to making stuff taste like a Tex-Mex restaurant. Cholula is also good, but Valentina will always have a place in my pantry.
