Why waste gin?

Post by JugMan »

I've just had the first gin and tonic I've had in ages, and I remember why I hadn't had one in ages - Why waste the gin by putting tonic water in it?

gin & tonic is a most excellent drink. To protest this grave injustice I will now make one and catch some sun while drinking it *hic*

Ever try Hendrick's Gin? It's made in Scotland and the main botanicals are cucumber and rose petal and is most excellent.
Mix it with grape soda and you'll have a Hendrick's Purple Haze.

I usually only make GT's with cheap gin. It cuts down on the clearly chemically enhanced flavor of the bad ones. If you've got the good stuff clearly (as the Reverend would say) It's Martini Time.

I'm proud to report, there's still absolutely no danger of me ever catching malaria. Though since late last summer I have switched from gin to vodka. Tonics are my mixer of choice, although there's much to be said for vermouth in the right context.

I agree with JugMan. I love Gin but cant stand G&T. Something about the tonic throws me off. I'll either drink my gin straight, in a Martini or in a Tom Collins.

After the past weekend, I'm loving vodka and beer.
Voices tell me to buy the bigger bottle!
