It's been awhile, they were a couple guys in the Italian Air Force I worked with during an exercise--I know they weren't from Naples, and specifically told me not to go there if I was going to visit Italy--they claimed it had too many foreigners. Having never been to that part of the world, I have no clue--I just felt bad that there first experience of America was in west Texas.

Actually, they both claimed they enjoyed San Angelo. Of course, they could have meant they enjoyed the cheap drinks and the fact that their Euro charm allowed them their choice of any hot girl between Abilene and Del Rio.....

I agree. In all the drinking I did with those guys, it was mostly beer and rum--they got a kick out of Lonestar long necks. It's entirely possible that something was lost in translation and they actually meant something else....
After great experimentation I have realised coke only tastes nice with coke....booze and coke tastes bad.
Booze and booze..well thats good. Booze and ice is also nice.
Gin and coke seems somewhat pointless to me, gin has a fragrant and complex palate that the giant sugar-hammer and acid flavour of coke disintegrates into oblivion.

The big question is what kind of gin? Is it regular gin or one of those new flavored ones? If it's regular, wouldn't a Mountain Dew (any flavor, like MDM's current Drunkard Of The Issue Mojo Nixon), Sprite or 7-Up, or Squirt be a better choice? Save the Coke for rum, vodka or the cheaper whiskies.

My girlfriend once ordered this for me by mistake (apparently coke and tonic sound similar when its noisey)...its wasn't BAD as such...but really quite pointless as I couldnt taste the gin...
overall not worth it unless you use lots of gin and naff all coke and even then its not great and there are much better things.
