Maybe it's as much nostalgia as anything, but a well proportioned bourbon and coke on the rocks still works for me.

I tend to adhere to the rule "bourbon for sipping, rye for mixing," so I only mix bourbon with ice. Rye manhattans, sours, and old fashioneds are all quite tasty.

have to second the sazerac. had one before dinner last night, and it wasn't even that good, but it was pretty damn good, if you know what i'm saying.

the old fashioned not only my favorite bourbon-based drink, it is, without rival, my single favorite cocktail in the world.

Aside from neat/rocks, the manhattan rules the roost for me. The sazerac is one hell of a drink but I haven't been able to jump on board just yet.

I like it in a pie.
Kind of like a pecan pie, but with chocolate chips and the aforementioned bourbon. Just don't call it a "Derby Pie" or you may get sued.
