WOODFORD RESERVE. "Smooth" would be an understatement. Kinda expensive, though.

I think it is an overrated bourbon. for. I want to say that it's too acidic, but I don't think that gies the right conotation. It's flavor just isn't what I'm looking. I guess, I don't find it as smooth as other people. More power to you, though, if it's what you like. I drink Ancient Age, so I've got no room to throw stones.

Woodford Reserve is also a Brown-Forman product and should be boycotted at all times.

Woodford Reserve has the best lunches at their distillery.

Maker's has the best distillery tour, and the BEST smells.

As far as the Bourbon itself, I currently have, on the bar, Evan Black, Maker's, Knob Creek, Beam White, and a splash of Beam Black.

I need some Old Crow- it's yummy. But I'm a Bourbon guy. You can never know what you like until you drink them all.

Makers is my go to guy and he never lets me down. An old favorite, no longer made is, Glenmore Silver Label. I bought a bottle at an auction years ago and it was VERY good. If I knew at the time that it is no longer made, I would have savored rather than swilled it. I cracked the seal the night I found out my wife was expecting our first daughter and sat on my porch in the rain... just thinking/drinking. Knocked off half the bottle that night and didn't even notice time had passed until the paper boy came rolling by. This bourbon has since become my White Whale and I have searched scores of old dive bars and ancient liquor stores for another bottle. For all I know Glenmore is a bottom shelf rotgut, just goes to show you cant judge a book by it's cover.

I doubt anybody needs to hear this but dont mix your bourbon with anything. No rocks no water and absolutely no Coke. There are a few exceptions though...like Bookers and water

There are a few bourbons that I cut, but for the most part the good ones don't need to be cut, and perhaps one ice cube.

Bourbons... lord...

Basil Haydens - Weak, thin, sweet, but easy as hell to drink. Slides doen the gullet like soda after a while. Can't be mixed with anything because just about anything overpowers it. And it's a little pricey.

Baker's - Good overall, but overpriced.

Knob Creek - Tastes like candy, almost liquer-like, but lethally effective. Suddenly you're just shitfaced. Bottles go too fast - evryone loves this shit.

Old Fitzgerald - If you can find it, and they aren't asking a fortune for it, this is very good.

Makers Mark Gold Label - Nothing better.

Blanton's - Excellent - very smooth.

Woodford Reserve - Overrated. But drinkable (what the fuck isn't after 3?)

Turkey 101 - Still the best bang for the buck. The perfect "bourbon club" (4 people finishing bottle quickly in one sitting by passing around shotglass until bottles killed... shotglass isn't allowed to touch table or ground) bourbon.

Beam Black - Meh, it's alright, but its got that funny fruity Beam taste to it. I'd never speak sacrilege against the holy work of the Beam people, but if you drink a lot of bourbon, after a while, you just can't drink Beam anymore.

Booker's - Silly and pointless. Too strong to suck down in quantity, which defeats the best raging-drunken-lunatic aim of a good bourbon buzz.

FWIW, the Red Bull and bourbon is unfairly demonized. It dosn't taste good... only a fool would suggest that. But it's effect is about as potent a buzz as one can achieve through alcohol.

Early Times. I'm sure I will get sodomized for saying that but I'm young and broke. It's decent and it gets me shithouse.

You need to do wht you need to do to get by. But really, you can do better for the price if you look around.

My first Bourbon was Bookers. It was a little too much for me. I haven't gone back since, but I will.

After that I got into Makers, then Knob Creek, both of which are now staples for me.

Girlie turned me on to Basil Haydens. It's like the honey of Bourbon.

Beam Black is the most common one for me these days. Price for return is unparalleled in my world.

I've had WT101 a couple times, but we really need to get to know one another better.

And I was gifted a bottle of Evan Williams something something that was good, but not so memorable for me.
