Goose vs. Turkey

Post by greygoose »

Many moons ago, Wild Turkey and I were fast friends. High school, post high school. Then, like many friends do, we went our separate ways.

Then yesterday at the candy store, the urge overtook me. As I entered the air-conditioned confines of the local packy (where one can get anything from Mickey's malt liquor to Chateau Lafitte that's kept under lock-and-key), I felt a tugging at my heart. I wandered through the aisles, seemingly playing a game of 'warmer.....warmer....colder.....'. I followed my senses and ended up where the back wall, made up of bourbon, whisky, whiskey, rye, etc. met the cooler. There, at eye level was my friend Wild Turkey.

Now my m.o. regarding WT in the past was to go for the 101, but I elected for the 80-proof. I achieved an award-winning (not apocalyptic, mind you, but just the right amount) buzz from my reunion with WT.

Goose: 1
Wild Turkey: 1

I heard every time you choose 80 proof over WT 101, God kills a kitten.
Three cups open the grand door to bliss;
Take a jugful, the universe is yours.
Such is the rapture of the wine,
That the undrunk shall never inherit.

Fear not. After the Goosette is born, I will welcome 101 into my gullet with open arms.

I heard one of those 'we pay you for medical study' ads on the radio. I now possess triple helix-based chromosomes.

I ALWAYS choose the 101 over the 80. ALWAYS! It's on sale for $15 a fifth at the Bottle Barn. They NEVER have it on sale!! Believe it or not, 101 was cheaper than 80 by $5 too! Yay! I win!

Honestly, I just think the 101 tastes better.

Not that I've ever had the 80 or nuthin.
