The folks who run the travel industry are retards. To make things more efficient, airports have installed electronic kiosks where passengers can simply scan their ID and punch in their airline confirmation number. The kiosk then prints your boarding pass and you are on your way. The only problem is, those things never work. NEVER. Those geniuses who came up with this system are probably the same fuckheads that said "the efficiency of these new kiosks allow us to eliminate 90 percent of our staff."

Because of this insane collection of poor decisions, airports are 75 percent less efficient than they were before the installation of the kiosks.

Brilliant!

It is now 5:46 AM. The airport bar opens in 14 minutes.

Puerto Vallarta 2020

Fuck it. In 24 hours, I will be in Puerto Vallarta. here's a link to the web cam located on the beach right outside our hotel: Here's a web cam located right outside our hotel:

We will be the gringos with drinks in our faces.
Looks like it's raining there now. We'll keep our eyes peeled for you.
Early Spring break is the time to go there. Summers are just unbearable with the humidity and stagnant air.

Last week, Santa Cruz entered the "red tier." You folks from California understand what this means. Mrs Booze and I decided to travel to this great coastal community for the weekend. After driving three hours through torrential rain, we arrived in time for a few happy hour drinks at the Crow's Nest (look it up) before checking in at our shitty hotel.

We immediately headed out to a nearby dive called Asti for a half dozen cocktails...

What a glorious day! We're in a town with open bars and reduced Covid restrictions. But that only lasted for about an hour as we walked around looking for bars that were supposed to be open. FUCK! Nothing was open except the https://crowsnest-santacruz.com/ and https://downtownsantacruz.com/go/the-asti-est1937

Shit.

San Diego went into the red tier this week, but it doesn't appear that anything has changed. The bars still have their outdoor platforms in the street, and the club on my block still screens people before entering.

Those conspiracy wackos that were saying this shit is never going away appear to be right. People are even getting their second-shot appointments cancelled involuntarily. The vaccination super-sites are closing.

On Friday, we found a place called the Red Room. It's located in downtown Santa Cruz and received some of the worst reviews I've ever seen. Generally speaking, terrible reviews equal perfect place. This was no exception. The place is a dump. Perfect. The also have Absinthe. I have no memory of the walk back to our hotel.

On Saturday, we walked to the harbor and had a few drinks at Brady's Yacht Club, a great little locals dive.

More bad reviews = Perfect!
