Is "highway" robbery supposed to be easier than other kinds of robbery? Because that doesn't seem true.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

I always liked to refer to your driveway as "highway", please find a better term and I`ll edit my post

I miss Seattle bars, now that I live in Georgia.
Really? Why don't you visit The Righteous Room in Atlanta?
Mostly because I live near Augusta

there's a bar in my town that has had like 5-6 names and owners in the past 20 years...most of them have been pretty successful but its a small place with i imagine fairly high rent...seems to be bar owners use it as a steppingstone....run it for a few years and then move to a bigger establishment down the street.

anyway I've fucking hated every single one of this bars identities bar one...it's usually full of cunty once a month drinkers on work nights out or people who go to a bar more to dance than drink.

the place was 2 mins stumble from my old apartment so i did occasionally drink a beer there regardless...anyway ontop the subject of bars i miss...when i said most have been successful there was one time for about a year where it was run by a guy called Ian who did not give a flying fuck..never cleaned, didn't book in any dj's or live music, no advertising, no nothing just opened and stood behind the bar hoping for the best...he was also a surly rude cunt but kinda the good kind...he used to be loaded all day while working and would just kick off at any yup coming in ordering a pornstar martini or fucking strawberry woowoo......

he was great...used to go every week on my midweek day off and drink cold draft budvar with him all day...he'd charge me for maybe 1 in 3 which defo didn't help him stay in business but defo did foster a great love for the place within me.

there was no music other than what i put on so used to blast tunes off you tube off the guys laptop.

at one point he told me they weren't gonna be selling beam black anymore...there was 2/3 of a bottle left which he said it wasn't on the till system anymore so hed have to let me drink that for free.

a short lived dream...but yeah i miss it and i miss Ian. hope hes doing ok. one day it was just closed up and reopened under a new owner. as i spoke to the guy every week when drinking there i never bothered to get his details or anything...don't even know his surname.

Fuck, this reminds me of the owner of the dive I used to haunt back in Denmark. Dude was almost always behind the counter and had no trouble with giving me drinks on the house (which is extremely rare in Denmark), and even bringing bottles of Four Roses just because he knew I liked it. Many a morning I'd be the only customer and he'd even put country music on just for me. College students used to frequent the place on the weekends, since a bottle of local beer cost just a euro and a half, but on weekdays it'd be just me and some local winos. He probably knew more about me than my parents and friends do. Then, when I went back to Denmark a couple of years back and visited the place, he was nowhere to be found; new bartender, new management, new everything. I only stayed for a beer and walked the hell away, almost tearing up.
Some few people know how to run a bar; most just see it as a way to make money. Let's hope we can all find a bar with the right kind of man running it.

if i ever won the lottery or something like that i'd love to run a bar like that where i didn't have to give two shits about business and could just pour profits away to people i liked and kick out anyone i didn't like. lol

Amigo's at the Wharf on Maui. It was lost in the fires that destroyed Lahaina. All the buildings in these photos are gone, it's so unbelievably devastating!

I'd sit there and have margas by myself chillin' at the outdoor bar and get carne asada tacos for take-out. It's hard to see the logo but I'm wearing my Drunk Korps Kap on the one occasion. MDM represent! Lahaina Strong! Okole Maluna!

It's also where I was when I referred to this moment although I didn't take a photo that time because it was at night and too dark and I didn't want to draw attention to myself:

One time I was at a bar in a Mexican restaurant by myself killing time waiting for my take-out order and I ordered a Corona margarita not knowing exactly what it was. The bartender brought me a huge fishbowl margarita with one of those tiny Corona bottles upside down sticking out of it. I was mortified sitting there by myself sheepishly looking around with that ginormous concoction in front of me. If I was with friends, no big deal, but by myself? Hello alcoholic chick! But of course I drank it and it was really good.

I used to ride my horse there and knock back Pappy. Good times.
