Seattle's dive bars

Post by rune »

What looks to be an excellent book about Seattle's non- sushi non-chi chi establishments of booze:

I've been to one of them(Blue Moon), some of them are just way too scary for me.

The Rose garden, number 3 on the list was just shut down for drug dealing on premises.
The owner is a retired DEA agent and his chinese wife.

Oh and a nice stabbing at Kelly's, number one on the list:

I like Seattle, and I like dive bars, but I'm not sure I'll venturing in to too many of those. Some bars are best left to the locals, it's not always a good idea to be the stranger....

Seattle - Industry Lounge

Post by Ginenema »

Normally I swim at 9lb in Gtown or Loretta's in S'Park, but new to Industry Lounge at foot of 4th at W Marginal Way. Nothing marginal about this bar. Small basic bar with too many Jaeger ads, and the music is a bit frenetic, the food (good) all cooked in hot erl, the Boozeselection got all the competent basics, BUT... the staff is purely professional/friendly/COMPETENT... the pours are beyond fabulous and the tariff is like you were drinking in the 80's. This loveliness can't last, don't fuggitup, let's party.

Every time I've visited Seattle I end up at this teeny little place called The Art Bar. Best fucking Guinness pour in the city, every time, and the waitresses are always top notch.

Welcome Mike...
Is that now where there used to be a dry cleaner's joint, next to Joe's Mart?
