That was a review that would make Carrie Nation herself want to go to the Glo Room without her hatchet.

Yes that was a brilliant review.
In my favorite dive it was normal that some person was laying on the ground, sleeping out the nights of before. Sometimes it was me sometimes some stranger. Never got thrown out. Barbara, oh my dear cameroonean lady was the barkeeper. I gave that joint a short review in the dive bar thread. I still think to this day that the stupid smoking laws killed her buisness and not her actually pimping african ladys to old german dudes in there at the same time...

I get it. I was thinking Moe's Tavern would be literally dank. - with rotten carpet & clammy air. A seasoned atmosphere I can appreciate. The odors of stained wood & cracked leather mixed in with the spilled beer & stale smoke. A place that feels lived in, where generations have made themselves at home & let down their hair.
i do quite like dank. i imagine moe's tavern is literally dank, as it is portrayed as being a shithole the whole way through. there's something comforting about a bar being a shithole. i think because you know it's unlikely you'll be hustled out by a crowd of new folk, you essentially own it because the landlord doesn't give a shit

Dark, shadowy bar. Sounds like a paradise. I've read all reviews here. The only question is : do you live in heaven??? I haven't seen a bar like that in my country. Like ever. Period. Best shadowy, dank place i've been to is back at my place, under the table...

Dank is good. But some of us are too big-boned to fit in that small location. We need to spread the legs wide to fit there.

Quick! Get the coffee table! Maybe make a blanket tent...

I couldn't agree more. A darker bar, one that is not night club dark, screams of class and elegance, and that's the place I genuinely enjoy. Here in Australia, there are a few bars I frequent. My favorite however is Archie Rose. This is their place: https://archierose.com.au/bar/

It won an award for their bar's design if I'm not mistaken. It used to be just a distillery but they opened up the bar and their drinks are exquisite. I reckon there are hundreds of people out there who are as proud of it as I am.

Welcome back! No harsh intended.

It's good to know that you are not an ad bot. Welcome into the fold, and if you have any other friends from Down Under, then please include them in your pursuits here.

We here simply enjoy the drinks form bars in other places, but we are also weary of folks who arrive without first attempting to become part of the crew.

Some folks are trying to make a penny for a click.

Care to buy a round for this Tribe?
