Brewdog: The Bar

Post by Shane-O-Matic »

Some of you might've heard about - and I may have previously written about - Brewdog, the Scottish brewer responsible for challenging the stagnant British brewing industry. Their success has been considerable, as they now have a few bars to their name. They opened one on my doorstep in late July. I'm a happy boy.

Beneath is Sink the Bismarck. At 41% ABV, it's far from your average IPA.

I think this was a pint of Alice Porter.

Digging the use of female names for beers. This was Hello My Name Is Ingrid. Lovely beer.

Below is Tokyo*, an oak aged stout that weighs in at 18.2%. Very nice.

Now I turn your attention to the Ben Nevis. This image below will be a familiar sight for Bur. The bar staff still ask for him.

The last picture was taken last night, minutes before the girl next to me slowly and playfully wrestled some guy to the ground, smashing several glasses. Nobody seemed to care. Three youths were ejected, though, for downing the water jug.

What can I say, I'm all sunshine and flowers to be around.

I've actually heard from that 41% fucker well before this as well, how was it?

I dare not spoil it for you, young Finn. If you make Edinburgh, you can try it for yourself. Otherwise, the Glasgow/Aberdeen bars await your time and money.

Ho ho! Loving that you've got some decent craft beers going on up there. Stagnant British brewing industry is right, man - shite. That 'Hardcore IPA' from your Brewdog crew looks like a good one though. Might have to get some of that in at a cool 9.2%.

Let it be another incentive for making Edinburgh. They have a bar there, too.

At any rate, once you're settled I can send beer in the post!

I get the feeling you're going to be there...
"I never want to go to bed if there are still beers in the fridge, but then I am always hopeful that there are beers left in there when I wake up.". Thirstydrunk.

"We all look for happiness, but without knowing where to find it: like drunkards who look for their house, knowing dimly that they have one." Voltaire

"The prince of darkness is a gentleman." Shakespeare.
