R.I.P Ronnie James Dio.
""Whenever I get dumped, I nail the door shut so that no one can come inside, get a towel and clip it around my neck so it's like a Superman cape, take off my shoes so I can slide across the room, and...get a fake mic, like a celery stick or a pen, and I play any record that features the vocalist Ronnie James Dio. And you can just pretend you're Dio, because on every album he does, he has minimum one, usually three, *EVIL WOMAN LOOK OUT!*- songs. And if you wanna point like Dio, it's a three-finger point. (heavy metal voice) 'The exit is that way. Evil LURKS! Evil lurks in twilight! Dances in the DARK! Evil woman! Just WALK AWAY!'" - Henry Rollins.
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. "
-Hunter S. Thompson

I saw Dio back in 1985 at the Cow Palace. First ime I ever saw a show stone undrunk. His singing was dead on perfect. The rest of the show was boring but for a band that was already on the road for months, his voice was rock solid. RIP to one of the great vocalists.

Damn. I wasn't terribly into heavy metal, but my bf was. Dio was amongst the groups that made up the soundtrack of that time in my life and a very strange time it was, but one I look on fondly now.

Saw him in 2003, and he was INCREDIBLE. Great voice, great performer, and some really cool songs. This saddens me.

never had the pleasure of seeing him live, but he's got to be the only 4 foot something dude that could punch you in the crotch and still wail louder than you afterward. sorely missed......ima go listen to the 'born again' mp3's now.
why is my moral compass always pointed east? that's the direction of the nearest liquor store.
