In praise of a great dog

Post by drunkiejohn »

This past Wednesday, I had to say goodbye to Molly.

Image
Molly was my Mom's last dog, and I cared for Molly for nearly five years after my mother's death.

This lab-chow mix (with maybe alittle Akita) was the sweetest dog I ever knew. She never barked in anger and once licked a pit bull into being friendly. Raise a pint for Molly.
If I had a nickel for every time I drank too much, I'd buy another case.

Thanks, Screwball.

I should also mention that my (our) Molly was at least 16 years old. We were never sure since my family adopted her from the city pound in 1995, when she was already a mother of at least one litter. losing a dog like Molly is like losing a sibling.

Molly seems like she lived a happy life and that's probably because she knew she was loved.

Sorry for your loss.
