Possibly, as long as there were no eggs on it

One of the only reasons I miss living in Rochester.
Thinly shaved steak, tomatoes, onions, provolone and french fries.

That's a yay for me too. It looks pretty delicious but for whatever reason unlike a lot of people, I'm not a fan of the fries on my sandwiches, always separate. But those fries look absolutely amazing. Perfectly crispy!

What's with you upstate New Yorker's and your delicious regional sandwiches anyway? A friend of mine from the Buffalo area always raved about a "beef on weck". For those of you not privy, (via wiki) a beef on weck is a sandwich found primarily in Western New York State, particularly in the city of Buffalo. It is made with roast beef on a kummelweck roll, a roll that is topped with kosher salt and caraway seeds. The meat on the sandwich is traditionally served rare, thin cut, with the top bun getting a dip in au jus and spread with horseradish.

I think it sounds amazing- another yay for me- and I could see why he pined for it. oett would hate it though because of the "kummel" part of the bun. I mean, Brötchen. He doesn't like the caraway seeds. Or horseradish.

And it closed down yesterday. Thanks china virus. Harry G's NY Deli made a damn fine sammich. And fried dill pickle chips. And they had beer, because few things are more awesome than washing down a sammich with a pint.
Also that sammich posted above would typically be topped with coleslaw in addition to the other toppings.

McDonald's in Germany are currently advertising their new “Big Spargel Hollandaise” burger, complete with cheddar, lettuce, bacon, hollandaise sauce and white asparagus tips. Yes white asparagus. Germans are obsessed with white asparagus. It's pretty damn good.

As much as I'm fond of burgers, asparagus, and hollandaise...this is a big effin' nay for me.

"Willkommen to McDonald's. What can I get for you?"
"Yeah, can I get the Big Spargel Hollandaise burger but without the spargel and hollandaise, please? With a side of Big Mac sauce? Danke!"

yeah NYC does seem to be fucking sandwich heaven....

although....while what you described sounds great it doesn't sound worthy of it's own special name...is that not just a bog standard beef sandwich? like how else would you have a beef sandwich? i could understand changing up the horseradish for hot English mustard but either would work.

^^^English mustard could be used in place of horseradish. I think the name comes from the beef being served on a kimmelweck roll. Which is a roll with salt and caraway seeds on top if I'm not mistaken.
