I'm busy designing a calendar for all you drunkards.Tom wrote:I think a better idea than destroying roadside memorials to the deceased would be starting some sort of legitimate campaign. Some sort of organization that specifically addressed the wrongdoing of MADD and attempted to show that their interests reach far further than opposition to drinking and driving. Protests could be organized around MADD headquarters. The possibilities are great.
I'm a far too lazy man for such a task. And I don't really give a shit. But maybe someone sharp could do something.
why is my moral compass always pointed east? that's the direction of the nearest liquor store.
I think the biggest drunkard victory yet is that beer is now able to be served in the "dry capital of the world." Fuck MADD. Fuck them in their sorry, lonely, divorced-with-no-child-support asses.Tom wrote:I think a better idea than destroying roadside memorials to the deceased would be starting some sort of legitimate campaign. And I salute you sir. And empathize with the lack of participation and response. For some reason, drunks have a way of not following through with things. This happened in my childhood, and I hope to carry it on into the next generation.Grey Goose wrote:I'm busy designing a calendar for all you drunkards.Tom wrote:I think a better idea than destroying roadside memorials to the deceased would be starting some sort of legitimate campaign. Baby, your body is so beautiful I wish I was an artist so I could paint it. As it is, I'll have to settle for taking a picture with my digital camera and selling copies to middle school kids for 5 bucks a piece.

Not every roadside memorial you see out there is necessarily a shrine to someone that was killed by a drunk driver. A lot of those shrines are just to non-driving kids that just plain fucked up (and may have been loaded themselves). Some of the shrines you see in the urban areas are for some poor innocent who got caught in the crossfire of gang bangers or some other ne'er do wells with lots of fire power.

Re: Those MADD crosses...
Okay are you serious? Those "crosses" are there to remind all the fucking drunks that drinking and driving kills! Not only is it someones child, it's someones mother, daughter, sister, father, uncle, brother, friend, loved one... I only signed up to say, "what the fuck?" to this comment about the crosses.. A drunk took my sister from me... He is in prison and i hope he rotts in hell!! There is nothing wrong with drinking.. but be responsible.... I hate seeing those crosses too.. especially my sisters.. but if it helps remind people not to drink and drive then.. good...

i am sorry for your loss. having a loved one taken from you is a terrible thing no matter how it happens.
as far as the crosses, MADD never comes to my mind when i seem them. People here put up crosses all over for various reasons. on kid died in a dirtbike accident, no booze involved. friends a family put up a giant cross with his helmet on it in the middle of the desert. someone dies in an accident on the road, they put up a cross near the site. who knows if booze was involved. one guy was murdered in a dennys parking lot, there is across on the traffic median. people memorialize deaths for different reasons, not always for political reasons. unless the crosses have a MADD logo or something of the sort on them leave them alone. no one knows if booze was a player or not. fuck MADD and their agenda, mabey just mabey when they were fist organized they were a worthwile organization, but the people and politics have changed along with their agenda. we must fight back twice as hard with another shot.
so since you are the new guy, i will double WT101 neat with a budwiser back.

Alot of people have lost a lot of loved ones due to a lot of stupidity, sorry about your loss.
But I have to ask, how did you manage to find a thread that is 5 years old and so buried that most of the people who posted on it have long since left the board and most of the people here now have never seen? Was it a search engine thing? Just really curious.

No harm, no foul. I can imagine googling that and come across a drunkard's board advocating tearing them down. Paint it any damn color you want and don't take any crap off the "man".
