Attention Old School Hip Hop Heads

Post by fizzmaster »

This is great: Marley Marl's radio show from 7/14/89 with special guests Ultramagnetic! Sound quality is excellent and there are tons of amazing records played that I've never heard before. Liz, this one's for you!

Funny that you posted that because I have been rocking a lot of Das Efx recently.

Nothin like a little mid-90s boom bap. Too bad most rap doesn't sound like that anymore.

I'm a big fan of the BackSpin channel on Sirius. It seems to have the West Coast focus that I like.

What must I do to get a copy of those on VHS?! I'll pay you or work out a trade. I agree with 88 to 92, but I would extend the years to 96. So much great stuff came out in 93-96, as well. Beatnuts, Wu Tang, Biggie, De La, Octagon, Redman, Bone, Cube, Co. Flow, Keith Murray, Eazy E, Snoop, UGK, it goes on and on. Rap used to be so good. I had a DJ gig last night and I can say that people, even young 21-22 year olds get hyped off the old shit more than the new shit. The older stuff just has a better feeling behind it. I like alot of new stuff, but definitely very few newer records move the crowd. Sexual Eruption gets the girls moving.

Vinyl is where its at. I DJd a St. Paddy's party last night, it was rad. I scratched a record and pounded half a bottle of champagne simultaneously.
