well i just went to a little hospital like setting, they hooked me up with an iv of ativan saline and zofran, then they gave me a shit load of librium to take at any level i need. anyway, by the time its done I should no longer rely on alcohol to get by from day to day.

I think you need to see a lawyer who specialises in abuses of "Cruel and Unusual Punishments" regarding this! And very fucking soon, too!

well, really it has been quite comfortable, They gave me 60 Librium and i can take up to 12 25mg (the strongest they make). Idk alcohol isn't fun anymore if your at risk for having a seizure if you don't drink for a day or two, the doctors where very good i think.

Sadly, no joke; trying to break an alcohol addicition by going "Cold Turkey", is one (of very few addictions) where total, unsupervised abstinence , will almost certainly, kill you. Therefore, if you are considered to be a heavy drinker or, heavens forfend, an alcohol (going by whatever bullshit chart your government's Health Department/Ministry/Office/Auntie, have put out, this week), you will have three main choices:

a) If you have the money, you will go to a luxury medical detox centre. There you will receive excellent medical treatment, both physical and physco-therapeutic. Luxuriant surroundings, a careful selected menu for you to choose from, your own room (or, at worst, a shared suite), plenty of exercise, care (everything from medical to snacks, available, "on call", 24 hours per day, 7 days per week). However, you will hot have access to live radio or television, all your newspapers will be censored, visiting and telephone times will be strictly laid out. Furthermore, all access to your cell/mobile telephone and/laptop or tablet. Whilst you are undergoing this rather pleasant "retreat", with all the drugs that you can eat, you will have to attend a certain amount of Alcholics Anonymous meeting, to try and get you into the habit. You will also be subtly pressured into accepting "Sponsor", a person, to whom you are, from now on in, supposed to share all your innermost thoughts, fantasies, fe8ars etc. An to whom you will turn if you ever feel the urge to throw back a few glasses of good cheer!?!*

b) A publically- or charitably-funded detox unit. You will receive your pills at set times, and you will queue to get them. You will then swallow them straight from straight from the transparent cup and then open your mouth wide to prove that aren't concealling any tablets (to keep for stashing until later for funsies). You will be monitored at all times. No TV, Radio, no telephone and definitely no internet. Reading is permitted; you will have a choice between the old and new testaments.

c) A concerned, well-meaning relative locks you in an unheated, unplumbed, unlit and unwired garden shed. There is a piss, blood and some other kind of mark, that you try not to think about, stained matress upon the shed floor. There will be two buckets - N.B. Do not get these buckets confused! You will be fed everytime that person remembers. One of you will probably not survive the treatment; so setting up a "dead pool might help you to pass the tme...

*Although we could thieve the idea of the "Sponsor". So, if you are sat home one evening and, for some bizarre reason, you don’t feel like drinking, you would call your Modern Drunkardist Sponsor who would talk you out of such dangerous, sellf-harming, unnatural etc. behaviour, share a few drinks together, either over the telephone or, if necessary, share a few virtual drinks, face-to-face, via Skype! Now that kind of "Sponsor" is one that might have some, albeit limited, use around here...

What say the rest of you?

I will read your post, but as I think I have said I went to the hospital they gave me iv ativan, zofran and saline. then they wrote me a librium prescription, to wean my self down on. I am not quiting cold turkey I did all of this stuff I think yesterday when I got the shakes after only twelve hours with out alcohol, and I decided I know longer wanted to depend on booze to keep myself from having seizures, and many other symptoms

dont worry it'll just be what we in the drug user community call a tolerance break.

It was the right choice. Alcohol is awesome. And there no "buts" here. If you're having seizures without booze - you went overboard. Taking good care of yourself comes first.

I mean while i'm on librium ill still post here because it defiantly has some effects that are close to alcohol. and after that is over I'll probably make myself only drink on the weekends.

My soon to be ex reported back from her third detox-clinic vacation in the last couple of months now.
Trust me, you are not that far gone. Her liver is bloating and she, for some reason, can`t watch a beer lay in the fridge untouched. Her pulse is at a constant 120 plus. Her ending is near. She is ten years your major, it takes alot of practice and a certainly weak mind and body to go that far. You are not there yet.
Face life as sucky as it seems with some honest "not giving a fuck" and join the weekend army. You are by my estimation too young to be one of those.
The heavy drinking of your past (years maybe?) tooks it toll, but you will be able to shake it off and be alright soon enough.
Drink!

Yeah i think you retracted your opinion on our last skype chat it when I told you exactly how much I was drinking. well idk my memory is hazy because I was mixing librium in my sprite to make what we in texas call purple drank https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purple_drank

anyway now I'm out of librium and on the last bit of my detox ive only been allowing myself to have a few sips of a bottle of this over the past 12 hours. http://www.smirnoff.com/en-us/vodka/smi ... -beverage/
