I still laugh every time I see this. It's funny but also true. I had a DI try to choke me out like Gomer in this scene but I had a thick muscular neck that he couldn't get a grip on. I was laughing the whole time. Gunnie didn't like that! LOL!

"Tell us more about your neck."
It's red most of the time but, to explain....
I played semi pro football for a while as an offensive lineman before joining. Big necks were a must as a lineman, unless you wanted to be decapitated by that 300lb guy trying to take your head off. Just saying.

Re: Anyone else serve in the Corp?
First off, semper fi. Never served in the Corp, but I will thank you personally on behalf of all these liquored-up chucklefucks for your service, even if I do give you shit about your large, red-sunburned neck and nickname you "Sammy the Bull".
Secondly, I met R. Lee Ermy some twenty years ago at a small arms expo in Vegas, and he was the coolest, most genuine sumbitch you'd ever want to meet. And man did he have a strong handshake. I would not want to be choked by that East Texas kung fu grip.
Last, but not least, an insert of Entering Texas by the Butthole Surfers seems somehow appropriate here. Enjoy.

Re: Anyone else serve in the Corp?
Fact of the matter is, I'm 58 yrs old and entered the Corp during the cold war because I didn't know what else to do with my sorry ass at the time. I never saw combat. Just spent most of my time partying and working in the motor pool fixing shit. Still, it was an ok experience for a 20 yr old. Hell, there are bars in Tejas that are more dangerous than any of the places I went as a Jar Head! LOL!

.
Thanks. But I was just a grease monkey back then. I kept the wheels moving. Then I realized it was better to drive it than to fix it! LOL!

I always thought that Lee Ermey Gunny looked too old. Grumpy made Gunny in his twenties; retired as Master Guns.
