Official thread of crackers, cheeses and meats, oh my

Are triscuits triple biscuits? I think they're just over glorified saltines

No no no no no no no noooooo! Totally different. For one, Triscuits are wheat and Saltines are flour. That's like comparing flour and corn tortillas in Mex food like they are the same. In both regards, I love them equally but for entirely different reasons. They are paired with certain things over the other for good reason, whether it be flavor, texture, durability, etc.

Granted, both crackers can withstand the deliciousness of assorted toppings like spreads, cheeses and meat interchangeably. Some just pair better together. Just as tacos rock whether they are in a crispy corn shell or in a soft flour wrap. Totally different flavor profiles and yet, both delicious. But then you have your specific pairings such as burritos which are always in flour tortillas, and enchiladas which are always traditionally in corn. Thankfully there aren't any rules about mixing things up because I eat my crackers and Mex food any which way, and embrace the versatility.

For penance you must drink 5 Whiskeys neat, tip the bartender of your choice 100$ and listen to Tom T. Hall sing I Like Beer

Anyone else into the cheap spreadable cheeses? Growing up I really liked them but now that I'm a full blown drunkard I think I would have an entirely new appreciation for them as I do love my drunchies (as Patchez said earlier in this thread). Especially the port wine. The glorious summer oett and I got to hang out with Badfellow at the lake, we got some nice spreadable cheeses, I think one was Swiss and one was horseradish. I loved them so much I had to pack it in my suitcase and take it all the way home. There was also a farmer's market I would frequent that made their own spreadable cheeses and it had olives in it. One of the most banging cheeses I've ever had. I guess I should try my hand at making my own. Ahh cheese. It puts me in a happy place.

Yeah, Oett was shoveling down that spreadable horseradish cheese with his fingers. Not really. But almost. We had crackers, if memory serves correctly. Good times.

currently in the fridge

some Capocollo di Calabria which is actually out the fridge as it's getting drunk munched with these cold beers
some Soppressata di Calabria (likely up next)
a whole pound of Nduja (can you tell I fuck with the Calabrese)
some Prosciutto di Parma

All on his own defending France I have some Saucisson Sec

cheese wise
I've got some extra mature Cornish Cruncher Cheddar...first time having this and it's amazing...it has the little crunchy salt crystals like you get developed in 2 year + Parmigiano

also as always got a wedges of Parmigiano and Pecorino Romano.
did have some really good aged Stilton but we finished it this week.
