You see in this world there are two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Dry hot here sometimes 84 degress feels like 96 degrees. But rain came to the mountains and gave us a breath of coolness tonight and I lit the tiki lamps and had Wine on the deck in the evening. Even had to put footsies on my feet but it felt so good the fresh and cool air.

Or working broiler station on a Saturday night in a restaurant. I am literally scarred. I have worked nights where I will drink over a gallon of water and not pee once.

It's hot and wet in Taipei, as opposed to just wet. Sadly there is no sunlight thanks to our marvelous sun-filter/smog. I want to sit outside on a sunny day, drinking Pimms, or possibly Mint Juleps (it can be fun pretending to be a Merkin once in a while). I need Champagne and croissants for breakfast at a pavement café, or possibly a slice of Madeira cake for dunking while reading the papers. Hot weather allows us to sit by pools ordering ridiculous cocktails, preferably served out of coconuts, pineapples or bizarre stoneware, but at the very least sporting small umbrellas to stop them getting sun tans. My only issue with this it that should I venture into the water, I always fear that a Japanese tourist will attempt to harpoon the great white whale.

Summer, the leching season is here. Let's raise a toast to having a few drinks over lunch in a beer garden before being dragged back to work. I so wish there was a bar with a terrace near my office, in fact, I would just settle for a bar. Still, there is 7-eleven which does at least have tables outside.

Now, can someone eliminate the smog, reduce the humidity and provide me with a cooling breeze?

And my wretched central heating is broken. Still, I have a bottle of Rioja wine, 2/3 bottle of Sailor and about 6 cans of Red Stripe to tide me over . C'mon landlord - sort it out!

Cold here. Wind is whining.... Had 12+ inches of snow in the past 36 hours.
The cabin sits shut-down, cold-frozen and empty, dead mice in the traps, waiting for me to drink alone there in the dark.
