^ ^ ^ Looks disgusting but I hear it's not too bad. If you can get over what it really is. I would probably try it. Might regret it, but would try it.

We had a jar of anchovies that was given to us in a food basket that we finally cracked open. I haven't had them since I was a kid when my mom would order them on her supreme pizza. I remember they were gross and overpowered everything and I never had them since until Sunday. I was reminded as to how disgusting they were and now I can officially say I hate them and won't eat them again. Aside from the minuscule amount contained in Caesar dressing of course.

anchovies are fucking great!! one of my favorite beer snacks as well...olives, anchovies, pickled veg and gherkins and huge malt vinegar pickled onions. fucking ideal beer drinking snacks right there.

what the fuck is chicken alfredo though?? is this one of those dishes that Americans pretend is Italian??

Don't get me wrong, beastieboy. My contempt for anchovies do not deter me from other delicious snacks such as sardines and oysters from the can on some salted crackers. But pickled gherkins, olives, and eggs...whole 'nother level. I will eat those any day of the week. And I don't even have to be drinkin' (although preferable). I even make my own in a homemade brine with a bunch of garlic and spices.

Chicken Alfredo is a delicious, creamy, parmeseany, fettuccine pasta dish popular in the US but I believe was actually invented by Italians in Rome but sans chicken (I think). The part in this thread that makes it disgusting is the Chef Boyardee version, who created a line of cheap, canned, instant pastas in the US, primarily targeting the market of children, poor college students, lazy cooks, single men, and drunkards. I for one am a fan, but fall into the drunkard category only. I am not above the consumption of Chef Boyardee.
