This one I am totally down for. Bring the SPAM® any day! If you haven't tried it fried with eggs for a drunkard breakfast, you are missing out.

2 1/2 lbs. of noxious, violent fart fuel in a can! With barbeque sauce! You're whole family will be clamoring for the toilet!

So, Chef Boyardee started out in New York city when the Empire State Building was being constructed. This was pre Great Depression America and he saw his opportunity. He prepared spaghetti and meatball buckets for the workers and they were hot when he delivered them. He couldn't keep up with the demand. So, he went into canning his products and it took off even during the economic downturn.
People were getting a meal in a can at an affordable price. All that was needed was heat. The rest is history.

^^^ Aha, very interesting. Can you give me the background on fozen pizza too, and why it didn`t really catch up with workers during the construction of the hoover dam?

Frozen pizza is the next generation. There was no freezers when Chef Boyardee made his fame. My Mom would make pizza and freeze it to bake at a later time. It wasn't rocket science.
