Just asking. Do you keep drinking till the cows come home or do you just pass out and pick it all up the next day. I'm over the top right now but I'm still looking for more drinks. Looks like I'll be in the latter group passing out shortly.

I can keep going and going until folks around me look like they could use a good lump on their noggin. I've conditioned myself physically to figure out that this is the best time to finally eat something.

Then I keep eating and get stuffed. Then I get drowsy.

If I make it for a half hour without passing out, I'm good for another ten hours. It's odd behavior, I know.

Unintentional side effect is that whenever I eat anything now, I get drowsy and thirsty.

Well, um, yeah, thanks, and about that. It seems the cocktail was just a smidgen watered down by the time she walked that 1,800 miles on her bare footsies. And the bread on the nice, greasy pork sandwich was kinda dried out. And could she maybe cut the crusts off next time? And get me and Oettinger some cigarettes? Is that too much to ask?

Too much is never enough. I pregame if i need to be somewhere. Set alarms and such while undrunk. sometimes going back to set three or four more as the night wears one.

Or the wife comes home with that look. Yeah you know the one. Other nights she sites up and enjoys my company if i'm not too far into my cups..

I think the only way you can decide how much enough is, is if you decide on a set limit in advance before you start drinking. Of course, this is less fun and completely arbitrary besides. If you let external factors decide how much is enough (e.g. being refused service, friends suggesting you've had enough, or running out of alcohol), that's not really your decision.

Therefore, if you have unlimited access to alcohol and no reason to moderate your drinking, the only reason to stop would be because you you don't feel like drinking anymore (which is a purely personal subjective decision and therefore unquantifiable), or because you are no longer capable of drinking.

I find the latter is the most typical scenario in unfettered circumstances. It usually results in waking up in the middle of the night next to an almost full drink; followed by a brief exploration of the surroundings to see if I've left the lights/TV on, fridge or other important doors open, or anything potentially dangerous left turned on. If circumstances permit, obviously that would not be enough, because there's an unfinished drink right there.
